Sometimes I get frustrated in what I dont accomplish during the day. Matt suggested keeping a mental note of what I do, do to maybe help me feel more productive. Because all my brain cells were eaten while creating children I had to write it down. I thought Id share as a insight into our days plus after someone so kindly put it " You have it so easy to be able to stay home with the kids."
So here is my easy day...
Sleep between 10pm-2am
2am - Brooklyn wake up/ eat
Between 2am and 3am - B comes in bed with me
3am - Boden wakes up screaming and no matter my best efforts cries until 5am
5:30 Brooklyn wakes up again and eats. B informs me Bo is loud. Yes, yes he is.
6:00am Text Matt telling him everything including world hunger is him and Seabrooks Fault.
6:45 - Matt gets home and takes kids downstairs for Breakfast.
7:15 Matt wakes me up asking if we need to get B ready for school (?!?!) That would be yes.
7:20 Find the kitchen and coffee
Watch a bit of news, pack B lunch for school, check email
Watch a bit of news, pack B lunch for school, check email
7:45 Figure oh yeah I need to get us ready for school
7:45-8:20 Getting myself dressed and somewhat presentable and B ready for school which includes 2 meltdowns over clothing and making her bed. Oh and Boden is playing in her room. The horror.
Matt gets Brooklyn dressed and helps me load them in the car.
8:20-9:15 drive B to school and drop off / drive home.
Get home start laundry/ clean up kitchen, change 2 poopy diapers, feed Brooklyn, feed Boden, Light candle cause my house smells like burned pot pie that split in my oven last night, pick up from morning
10:10- Friend comes over to walk with kids.
10:15-11:15 walk with a friend while stopping to talk about dogs, give snacks/ cups, and re-adjust sun shades about 3757576 times. Sweet workout.
11:15-11:45 - Grab coffee and go through pictures with friend from our DIY family picture session.
12:00- Get lunch for kids / they play and I change over laundry/ vacuum etc
12:30 Leave to go get B
12:30-1:30 Pick up / Drive home ( for those keeping track that is 4 times getting 3 kids in and out of car seats and into the house)
1:30 Wake up Matt
1:30-2:45 Sit outside with Matt having coffee playing with Bo while the girls sleep in the car after falling asleep on the way home from school. Bo has exactly 3 meltdowns over not being able to work a a rake.
2:45 Matt runs to store with Bo - I get girls snack/ bottle and do more laundry. Also unload dishwasher
3:30 My Mom calls - chat with her while kinda playing in Bs room with her. Also pick up piles of clothes and put away.
4:00 Head downstairs to start dinner prep
4-4:45 dinner prep/ cooking/ clean up kitchen
5:00ish Picnic dinner on the floor in the livingroom ( mainly because out kitchen table is piled with coats etc and I didnt feel like cleaning it off)
5-6:00 - Eating dinner, arguing with kids on eating dinner, cleaning up spilled milk, 2 time outs, 1 Brooklyn spit up
6-6:30 Start fire to warm up house, Matt reads to kids while I fold laundry on couch and B ends up dancing around the living room
6:30-7:15- Getting 3 kids into pjs, rooms picked up, teeth brushed, finding blankies and stuffed animals, books read, hugs/ kisses night night!
7:15-8 Finish picking up house / try to catch some sort of news/ Send out email for Bristols class.
8-9 Shower (since that has yet to happen today) and get ready for bed
Between 9:30-10 fall into bed!
Before I get hate mail I know I am fortunate to stay home and spend this short time with all my babies. But sometimes that can be the overwhelming and tiring part.
Im home all the time with babies. ;)
Their are lots of great moments I do get to share like B telling me all about how she made a new friend today. It went something like this:
B: Mom I made a new friend today!
Me: Thats great!
B: I went up to her and said Hi Im Bristol. She said my name is Lilly. I said Thats a beautiful name. She said she liked my pink sparkly shoes. We played all day.
I do love that and being able to hear it first hand. I guess their are more "things" I could get done but at the end of the day its the moments that matter with all these crazies.
